Wow, I took a chance on another book, and it turned out to be a really fantastic read! I wasn’t aware that An Evil Mind is book number 6 in the Robert Hunter series, but I highly recommend reading it, and I plan on picking up books 1-5 when I get the chance.

If you like serial killers and don’t shy away from gruesome murders

Then this is the book for you. Detective Robert Hunter gets brought in with the FBI because a man in custody refused to talk to anyone other than Robert. Lucien Folter got arrested when an unforeseen accident landed him right into the arms of the FBI. Turns out Robert and the suspect used to be best friends and roommates in college. The story follows with Lucien, Robert and Agent Taylor who interviewing Lucien begin to realize there is more to than the two severed heads that were found in his trunk. Lucien character is a well thought out and very disciplined serial killer who has been torturing and militating victims over the past 25 years including one shocking victim who was very close to Robert Hunter. The only character I disliked greatly was the Ghost.

The story is written beautifully. The chapters are short and to the point and it was an easy read. This was my first time reading anything by Chris Carter and I can’t believe it has taken me this long to discover him!
